Case Summary
The charges brought against Zvonimir Jurlina center on events that happened in the late afternoon of Jan. 6, 2021, at the media staging area outside the northeast corner of the U.S. Capitol. An individual, identified by the FBI as Jurlina and seen in photographs posted on the FBI's website, participated in an assault on the area where the media had gathered. Jurlina allegedly incited "violent acts," along with others in the crowd, that forced members of the media to disperse and abandon their equipment. The photos show him allegedly kicking and stomping on equipment belonging to media outlets and assisting in an attempt to set fire to some of the equipment. In a 12-part video series livestreamed on YouTube, Jurlina documents the incidents cited in the charging documents, including a moment where Jurlina says, “This is reporter Zykotik coming to you live. We are, haha. This is the real news media network. We have taken over. This is mother f**king America first."
Case History
Jurlina pleaded Guilty to the charge: Act of Physical Violence on Capitol Grounds. Sentenced on 7/20/2023 to 14 days incarceration; 24 months probation; special assessment of $10; restitution of $500. Jurlina received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
