Case Summary
“First ones in,” Zachary Wilson allegedly wrote on Facebook as he posted photos and videos from inside Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s office on Jan. 6, 2021. When a friend wrote he could be sent to jail, Wilson quickly responded, “I didn’t do anything wrong,” according to a criminal complaint. Wilson told FBI agents he entered the U.S. Capitol building because he wanted his “voice to be heard” as a strong supporter of former President Donald Trump, according to the complaint. It also states Wilson told agents that he had deleted the Facebook videos and deactivated his accounts since Jan. 6 and that he did not destroy any property while inside the Capitol building.
Case History
Wilson pleaded Guilty to the single charge. Sentenced 1/27/2022 to 24 months probation; 45 days home detention; 60 hours community service; $10 special assessment; $500 restitution. Wilson received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
