Case Summary
According to federal prosecutors, William Stephon Kit recorded a video of himself inside the Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021, in which he said, “Where are those goddman [sic] politicians at? [We’re] taking over the goddman [sic] Capitol." At another point, Kit can allegedly be seen on video outside the Capitol saying, "There is a f***ing price to pay for freedom" and "We are here to die for this s*** today." Law enforcement identified Kit as using the name "Semore Views" online, and he allegedly posted videos from the Capitol on his YouTube channel. On that channel, Kit, who is Black, has described himself as representing the "smallest demographic of Trump supporters." Court documents indicate that law enforcement first contacted Kit about his alleged participation in the Capitol riot on Jan. 8, 2021, and Kit acknowledged breaching the Capitol building. He was arrested more than a year later, on Aug. 1, 2022.
Case History
Kit pleaded Guilty to the two charges. Sentenced on 5/17/2023 to 30 days of incarceration; 12 Months of supervised release; $75 Special Assessment; Restitution of $500; 40 hours of community service. Kit received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
