Case Summary

William Isaacs is facing a federal criminal indictment alongside several alleged members of the anti-government extremist militia group known as the Oath Keepers. According to the indictment, Isaacs conspired with members of the Oath Keepers and helped plan for the group to storm the Capitol to disrupt the certification of the 2020 presidential election. On Jan. 6, 2021, Isaacs allegedly joined a military-style "stack" formation with members of the group and helped the crowd breach an outer door of the Capitol. Once inside, the indictment states, Isaacs moved to the Capitol rotunda and then headed toward the Senate side of the building as he "yelled 'the fight’s not over' and waved rioters down the hallways towards the Senate." He then allegedly "joined the mob in pushing against a line of riot police officers guarding the hallway connecting the Rotunda to the Senate" and retreated only after officers used chemical spray. The indictment states that Isaacs exited the Capitol building at 3:05 p.m. and about an hour later gathered with members of the group, as well as the Oath Keepers' leader, Stewart Rhodes, outside the building.
