Case Summary
Willard Peart's attorney voluntarily reached out to the FBI to offer an interview. During the interview, Peart allegedly admitted to traveling to Washington, D.C., from Utah and entering the U.S. Capitol during the insurrection. After reviewing video footage of Jan. 6, 2021, the FBI identified Peart as an individual holding a Trump flag inside the Capitol before Capitol Police escorted him out of the building. An FBI special agent alleged that Peart's conduct was "disorderly and disruptive" because he "chanted loudly inside while parading and demonstrating inside the building."
Case History
Peart pleaded Guilty to the charge. Sentenced on 4/2/2022 to 36 months of Probation; 60 days home detention with electronic monitoring; 240 hours of community service; Special Assessment of $10; Restitution of $500; Fine of $500. Peart received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
