Case Summary

Virginia Marie Spencer, also known as Jenny Spencer, allegedly participated in the Capitol rioting along with her husband, Christopher Spencer. The Spencers, federal prosecutors say, spoke to FBI agents and said they decided to travel to Washington, D.C., along with a caravan organized by a "twitter personality" who goes by the name Dr. ENoCH. (The Detroit Free Press describes Dr. ENoCH as a "QAnon conspiracy theorist who says he's from Michigan.") Jenny Spencer, who was wearing a sweatshirt with the logo "F*** Gun Control," allegedly told the FBI agents that they decided to go to the Capitol after then-President Trump said protesters would be marching there in his speech. Christopher Spencer told agents they were in the Capitol building for less than "15 minutes," according to the FBI. Investigators allege that they found surveillance footage and other video of the Spencers inside the building for more than 20 minutes on Jan. 6, 2021. In the videos, prosecutors say, Christopher Spencer can be heard yelling at Capitol Police, "F***ing traitor!" and encouraging other rioters to kick down a door.

Case History

Spencer pleaded Guilty to one charge: Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges were dismissed. Sentenced 1/7/2022 to 3 months incarceration; $10 special assessment; $500 restitution. Spencer received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
