Case Summary
Federal prosecutors allege that Ulises Wilkinson attended the “Stop the Steal” rally at the Washington Monument on Jan. 6, 2021, while carrying signs stating “Free Assange!” and “Move Mitch! Get out the way!” Later, court documents say, Wilkinson could be seen on surveillance footage entering the U.S. Capitol along with other rioters, and breaching the Senate gallery. Prosecutors say that Wilkinson spent about 40 minutes inside the Capitol building before leaving. In July 2022, Wilkinson contacted the FBI and allegedly acknowledged that he had entered the Capitol, though he denied that he had committed any violence. He also allegedly claimed that the Proud Boys had invited him to join the extremist group, but he declined. According to court documents, Wilkinson allowed the FBI to search his cell phone, where they found a statement in the “Notes” section, in which he wrote “I regret storming the Capitol.” Wilkinson was arrested on May 30, 2023.

Wilkinson pleaded Guilty to two charges: Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building or Grounds; Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced on 6/28/2024 to 12 months probation; Special Assessment of $20; Restitution of $500; 40 hours of community service. Wilkinson received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
