Case Summary

Tucker Weston helped knock a metal barricade out of the crowd’s way and then shoved police officers who were defending the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, according to an FBI statement of facts. Weston then climbed through a broken window to take selfies and other photos inside the Capitol, the document claims. He left the building shortly after, but publicly available video showed him on the terrace right outside the Capitol almost an hour later. Separate video also depicts Weston kicking a media crew’s equipment further away from the Capitol. The FBI alleges Weston and co-defendant Jesse Watson flew from the Seattle area to Washington, D.C. on Jan. 5, 2021, before returning home two days later. A tipster who spotted Weston’s FBI photo identified him to agents, but the court documents allege Weston identified himself by name in a New York Times video taken at the Capitol. “That’s affirmative. Jesse, this is Tucker,” he was filmed saying into a handheld radio, apparently speaking to his co-defendant. Weston and Watson were both arrested Oct. 19, 2022 in Lynnwood, Wash.

Case History

Weston pleaded Guilty to two charges: Civil Disorder and Assaulting, Resisting, or Impeding Certain Officers. The other charges are dismissed.
