Case Summary
At least three people contacted the FBI after seeing posts on Trevor Brown's Facebook and Instagram accounts indicating he participated in the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol, including breaching the building, according to court documents. Brown is allegedly seen in multiple videos from the day, including one where he is yelling through a bullhorn as rioters attempt to breach a tunnel going into the building, court documents indicate. Shortly after that video was taken, police apprehended Brown and placed him in handcuffs, but he was later released without any charges being filed. On Jan. 7, 2021, Brown allegedly posted on Facebook, "People should be storming that Brothel we call the Capitol everyday for what goes on in there. ... Today thise [sic] elitist creeps are getting the same thing we live with everyday, fear for their own safety." In another post, he reportedly wrote, "I made it into the Capitol. I almost died getting in but I made it.” Since at least November, Brown had posted content on social media that questioned the legitimacy of the presidential election, court documents indicate.
Case History
Brown pleaded Not Guilty to all charges. Bench trial set for 2/3/2025. On 1/22/2025, the court grants the government’s motion to dismiss the case with prejudice.
