Case Summary
Todd Tilley’s brother confirmed Tilley’s identity after the FBI showed the brother a screenshot of Tilley inside the U.S. Capitol building, court documents show. Tilley and his brother messaged on Jan. 6, 2021, the FBI says, and Tilley wrote “Pence screwed us over.” Tilley dressed that day in a red hoodie and glasses, an outfit that prosecutors say they tracked through the Capitol building on surveillance footage and public videos. The FBI alleges Tilley was inside the Capitol for approximately half an hour. Court documents show Tilley’s phone records were consistent with this claim. TIlley was arrested in June of 2022.
Case History
Tilley pleaded Guilty to one charge: Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced on 3/13/2023 to 48 Months of Probation; 7 days of intermittent confinement as a condition of probation; 60 hours of community service; $10 Special Assessment; Restitution in the amount of $500. Tilley received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
