Case Summary
Prosecutors allege that the FBI received tips from at least four people that Timothy Hart was part of the riot at the U.S. Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021. One person reported that not only did Hart film the riot, but that he also filmed himself driving from Ohio to Washington, D.C. Court documents allege that Hart was among the rioters who helped to remove barricades surrounding the Capitol building and can be seen on the stairs telling others to come nearer to the building. An Instagram video posted to an account called “brotunda" allegedly appears to show Hart inside the Capitol, smoking what investigators infer was marijuana, wearing a sweatshirt bearing a large “Q." FBI agents say they were able to identify Hart via subscriber information for his YouTube channel and a linked mobile phone that was subscribed to his wife, Stephanie Hart. Hart is the owner of a paintball center in Ohio.
