Case Summary
The day before the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol, Thomas Method posted a video on social media saying, in part, "I have a feeling it's going to be mayhem, chaos, and pandemonium." Method later admitted to federal investigators that he was at the Capitol that day, stating that he was inside the building's Rotunda for around ten minutes. He was seen on security footage entering the building at an undisclosed time, and a selfie recovered from his phone via a search warrant showed him posing in front of a painting in the Rotunda entitled "Landing of Columbus." He was arrested on Feb. 14, 2024, in Boston, Mass.
Case History
Method pleaded Guilty to two charges: Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building or Grounds and Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. Sentencing set for 1/31/2025. On 1/23/2025, the court grants the government’s motion to dismiss the case with prejudice.
