Case Summary
Thomas Gallagher was among the relatively few alleged rioters arrested during the chaos at the Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021. Near the atrium of the House of Representatives, around 3 p.m., Capitol Police officers ordered the crowd to leave the building. "The crowd did not comply, and instead responded by shouting and cursing at the Capitol Police Officers," prosecutors allege. A group of people inside the building was then arrested, including Gallagher.
Case History
Gallagher pleaded Guilty to one charge: Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges were dismissed. Sentenced 11/4/2021 to 24 Months of Probation (with Conditions); Restitution of $500; Special Assessment of $10; 60 hours of community service. Gallagher received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
