Case Summary
On Jan. 6, 2021, prosecutors say Stacy Bond wrote in a Facebook message, “I got there right after they broke in, I was pretty pissed, but I went in there just to go in and out the front door and got maced.” The message was found via a search warrant, which court documents show also revealed Bond’s photos from outside the Capitol. A second search warrant to Google revealed interior photos as well, according to the FBI. Prosecutors say Bond can be seen in body-worn camera footage from law enforcement and with fellow defendant Paula Conlon in surveillance footage from the Capitol. Bond and Conlon were inside the Capitol for around three minutes, the FBI says. They were both arrested in May of 2022.
Case History
Bond pleaded Guilty to one charge: Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced on 1/5/2023 to 18 Months of Probation; 20 days home detention; Special Assessment of $10 and Restitution of $500; 50 hours of community service. Bond received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
