Case Summary

The case against brothers Sean and Kevin Cordon began with an interview with the Finnish newspaper Ilta-Sanomat, according to federal prosecutors. "It's clear that this election is stolen," Kevin Cordon said in a video interview with the paper's Washington correspondent. The reporter asked Kevin Cordon why he entered the Capitol, and he replied, "It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to show that the people of this country are not gonna take this corruption laying down," adding, "So we had to actually step foot in their building." According to an FBI affidavit, Sean Cordon is visible in the background of that video interview. Subsequently, FBI investigators obtained video footage and phone and travel records that allegedly demonstrate both men breached the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Case History

Cordon pleaded Guilty to one charge: Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges were dismissed. Sentenced 11/12/2021 to 2 months probation; $4,000 fine; $10.00 Special Assessment; and $500 restitution. Cordon received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
