Case Summary
Saul Llamas of Perry, Ohio, spent about 9 minutes inside the Capitol, prosecutors say. Court documents say Llamas, dressed in a gray coat, baseball cap, brown pants, and blue shoes, can be seen in surveillance footage entering the Capitol through the Senate Wing doors alongside Jordan Siemers and Ryan Swoope. Investigators say Llamas and Siemers are in a relationship and live with Swoope, and that Swoope sprayed an orange substance at police officers. A relative of Llamas confirmed his identity, prosecutors say, and photos from the Capitol match his driver’s license photo. Court documents show that search warrants to Google and AT&T indicate Llamas' phone may have been inside the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Llamas was arrested in November of 2022. According to sentencing memos filed in court, Llamas was employed as a police officer at two different agencies in Ohio.
