Case Summary
Nearly three months after the Capitol riot, Richard Harris was arrested in Florida and held without bond. Federal prosecutors said that Harris "was on the leading edge of a group" that breached the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Harris allegedly told a police officer that there are "a f***ing million of us out there" and that the rioters were "listening to Trump." Harris also allegedly was filmed inside the Capitol making disparaging remarks about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi while asking for her whereabouts and saying about then-Vice President Mike Pence, "We're coming for you too, you f***ing traitor!" According to Oregon Public Broadcasting, Harris is also accused of attacking a journalist in December during a rally in which a small crowd tried to break into the Oregon State Capitol.

Harris pleaded Not Guilty to all charges. On 6/4/2023 he was found Guilty on all charges in a Bench trial. Sentenced on 10/27/2023 to 41 Months of Incarceration; 36 Months of Supervised Release; Special Assessment of $605. Harris received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
