Case Summary
A number of people came forward to alert the FBI that Rebecca Lavrenz had been in the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, according to court documents. The FBI searched cellphone tower records and found a number belonging to Lavrenz that had allegedly been located in the Capitol on Jan. 6. On April 26, 2021, the FBI interviewed Lavrenz and she admitted to spending 10 minutes inside the Capitol, according to a statement of facts. Court records state that Capitol surveillance footage confirmed Lavrenz's account, showing that she entered through the East Rotunda Doors, walked around the Rotunda, spoke to a police officer and then exited the building. Lavrenz was arrested in Denver, Colo., on Dec. 19, 2022.
