Case Summary
According to a criminal complaint, Rachael Lynn Pert was at the riot with her boyfriend, Dana Joe Winn. Pert, an assistant manager at a Circle K, was identified by one of her co-workers, according to the FBI. Prosecutors say her co-worker told the FBI that Pert took time off from work to attend the rally. According to court documents, in a video recovered from Winn’s Facebook account, he can be heard saying, “We’re headed to D.C. because us as American patriots, we're tired of all this s---. It's time to take a stand.... America needs to wake up," while Pert sits next to him. He also adds that they brought flagpoles “to hit Antifa in the head if need be.” In an interview with the FBI, Pert allegedly admitted to entering the Capitol and identified herself in a picture that was taken inside the building on Jan. 6, 2021. According to a sentencing memorandum filed in federal court, Pert is a U.S. Navy veteran.
