Case Summary
Prosecutors allege that Philip Anderson can be seen in videos from the U.S. Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, yelling on a megaphone: "It’s time to go. We’re occupying the Capitol. Let’s go!" He then allegedly climbed the outside of the Capitol building and joined with rioters pushing against the police line guarding the tunnel on the west front side of the Capitol building. As the insurrection was ongoing, court documents state, Anderson gave an on-camera interview. "We broke right into the Capitol building. We stormed it, we took over," Anderson allegedly said. "Give us justice or else this is what you’re gonna have, and this is just the warmup. I’m Philip Anderson, you can find me on Parler at @teamsaveamerica," referring to the right-wing social media site. Philip Anderson was arrested on Aug. 28, 2023, in Mesquite, Texas.
