Case Summary
Six different witnesses alerted the FBI that Pauline Bauer had potentially been involved in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, court documents said. According to the FBI, one witness led the bureau to comments on Facebook from Bauer's profile that said, among other things, "I am at the capital and was inside. No [sic] of us are armed just pissed that this is what we have to do to take back our country from communism." Another post referenced a common conspiracy theory among QAnon believers, saying, "You can thank me after you start researching that these Democrats not only cheated and stole this election from the people but they have been trafficking children for years." But there is no suggestion in the charging documents that she follows the group. Another witness told the FBI about observing that Bauer's political rhetoric had become so constant she was losing business from a restaurant she owns. Bauer allegedly entered the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, with another man, William Blauser, and surveillance footage shows them in multiple places inside the building, including in the Rotunda, where both appear to have a brief struggle with law enforcement. Body camera video from law enforcement recorded Bauer telling officers, "Bring them out. ... We want them out here. ... Bring Nancy Pelosi out here now. We want to hang that f**king b***h." Bauer was arrested on May 19, 2021.
Case History
Bauer pleaded Not Guilty to all charges. Found Guilty on all charges in a Bench trial on 1/24/2023. Bauer received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
