Case Summary
In early January of 2021, an anonymous complainant contacted the FBI to report that Paul Lee Seymour Jr. and his girlfriend attended the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, according to court documents. The complainant said the girlfriend posted videos allegedly showing Seymour Jr. and her inside the building, but the FBI confirmed she only uploaded the videos and did not attend. The videos have since been deleted, but the FBI interviewed Seymour Jr., who allegedly admitted having been inside the Capitol alongside his father, Paul Lee Seymour Sr., who is also charged. The younger Seymour told the FBI he spent approximately an hour inside the building before he and his father were asked by police to exit, according to court records.
Case History
Seymour pleaded Guilty to one charge: Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced 11/4/2022 to 12 months of probation, 60 hours of community service, $500 restitution. Seymour received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
