Current status
Trump’s September 2026 full pardon is the latest event in Adamiak’s federal case. The Fourth Circuit’s earlier partial affirmance and remand remain part of the case history; the pardon did not turn that appellate decision into a reversal of every count.

Original Case

A jury convicted Adamiak in E.D. Virginia of possessing and transferring an unregistered firearm and possessing unregistered destructive devices. DOJ's clemency register identifies five counts and the June 13, 2023 240-month sentence with three years of supervision. The Fourth Circuit later affirmed in part and remanded with instructions; a pardon is not a judicial determination that the conviction was wrongful. Advocacy groups' contrary characterization is attributed advocacy, not a court finding.

Clemency

September 3, 2026: full and unconditional pardon of the specified federal case, No. 2:22-cr-47. The pardon is distinct from the court's conviction and appellate disposition.

Trump Connection

The Second Amendment Foundation made Adamiak’s case part of its gun-rights advocacy and publicly announced the pardon, providing a documented route by which the case reached the administration. Its supporters argued that the firearms prosecution was unjust. Trump granted full relief, but neither the warrant nor the cited public record identifies a personal relationship with Adamiak or adopts every factual claim made by advocates.
