Case Summary

According to federal court documents, Odin Meacham can be seen in police body-camera footage assaulting officers on the U.S. Capitol grounds on Jan. 6, 2021. In the videos, Meacham can allegedly be seen trying to pull a bike rack away from officers who were using it as a barricade. Later, he allegedly rushed toward the officers with a wooden pole and slammed the pole into at least one officer. He can also be heard shouting "lean in!" to the crowd and trying to take a police officer's baton, court records indicate. In June of 2021, the FBI included an image of who they allege to be Meacham on their "Be on the Lookout" list. A person who said they had known Meacham for years later positively identified him in the photos, according to court documents.

Case History

Meacham pleaded Not Guilty to all charges. Found Guilty on all charges in Bench trial on 6/18/2024. Sentenced on 11/5/2024 to 72 months incarceration; 24 months of supervised release; Special assessment of $710; Restitution of $2,000. Meacham received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
