Case Summary
The FBI has been monitoring Nicholas Lattanzi since he reportedly asked his TikTok followers: “Who wants to commit war crimes in Bosnia with me?” in December 2020, according to an FBI affidavit. On the day of the U.S. Capitol riot, an FBI agent spotted photos on Lattanzi’s TikTok account showing him near the U.S. Capitol wearing a paper Burger King crown, cowboy hat and a white flag wrapped around his shoulders as a cape, court documents indicate. Lattanzi originally denied entering the Capitol, according to the affidavit, telling agents he came to Washington, D.C., to “support my President.” Two weeks later, Lattanzi allegedly told agents he did, in fact, go inside the building and provided photos from the incident. The FBI claims he walked through the Capitol for about five minutes.
Case History
Lattanzi pleaded Guilty to one charge: Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced on 12/9/2022 to 14 days of incarceration; Special Assessment of $10; Restitution of $500; Fine $500. Lattanzi received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
