Case Summary
According to court documents, Nicholas Reimler was wearing a Trump flag as a cape when U.S. Capitol surveillance cameras caught him entering the building with other rioters. Surveillance reportedly picked him up again, a short time later, in the crypt area of the Capitol. Reimler also allegedly posted photos of himself on Snapchat and Facebook inside the building. Two people who said they were longtime friends of Reimler's and were in his same social circle said he had posted several conservative political posts before Jan. 6, 2021, according to court documents. He retweeted a Dec. 30 tweet from President Trump that read: “JANUARY SIXTH, SEE YOU IN DC!” and told a redacted Twitter follower that he was going to Washington, D.C., with “2 guys from work” and was leaving on “Tuesday evening, coming back Thursday night.”
Case History
Reimler pleaded Guilty to one charge: Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced 12/10/2021 to 36 Months of Probation; 60 hours community service; $10.00 Special Assessment; Restitution in the amount of $500. Reimler received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
