Case Summary
A day after the riot at the U.S. Capitol, the FBI received several anonymous tips that Moises Romero had posted videos of himself on Instagram inside the building on Jan 6, 2021, according to court documents. One of the individuals identified him as nurse in Florida and provided his cellphone number. A search warrant served on AT&T showed his number was used in an area that includes the inside of the U.S. Capitol. According to CCTV footage from the Capitol, Romero, wearing a black hoodie, a respirator and fingerless gloves, can allegedly be seen entering through the doors on the Senate side of the building. Footage appears to show him pushing his way in alongside a large crowd, as police officers are trying to hold the group off. Romero is seen near the front of the line of rioters, pressing his gloved right hand to the wall to assist in his efforts to get inside. Later, Romero can be seen walking around the building and recording on his cellphone. According to local media, Romero worked as a nurse at Memorial Regional Hospital in Pembroke Pines.
