Case Summary
Mikhail Slye used a bike rack "to intentionally trip an officer with the U.S. Capitol Police" during the Jan. 6, 2021 riot, according to the Department of Justice. Prosecutors say that Slye's actions caused the officer to fall down the stairs outside the U.S. Capitol. Court documents state that investigators viewed open source video from in and around the Capitol, as well as government surveillance footage to piece together Slye's movements. Prosecutors allege that Slye entered the Capitol building twice during the riot and spent more than 30 minutes inside. Slye was arrested on Sept. 30, 2022.
