The latest cited court order suspended Fiore from judicial duties with salary. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported her October 19, 2026 testimony denying misuse of donations in the separate disciplinary proceeding. No final disciplinary disposition is established by that report.

Original Case

While serving on the Las Vegas City Council, Michele Fiore solicited donations to build memorial statues for two police officers killed in the line of duty and promised that all contributions would go to the projects. Trial evidence showed that she diverted more than $70,000 to political fundraising bills, rent, and payments to family members. A jury convicted her on October 3, 2024 of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and six wire-fraud counts. Trump pardoned her before the court imposed a sentence.

Clemency

Trump granted Fiore a full and unconditional pardon on April 23, 2025, after the jury verdict but before sentencing. The pardon prevented a federal sentence from being imposed and ended the covered criminal case, while leaving Nevada’s separate judicial-discipline process to proceed on its own terms.

Trump Connection

Fiore was a Republican Nevada politician who had publicly supported Trump and participated in the broader pro-Trump political movement. Trump pardoned her after conviction but before sentencing, preventing a prison sentence from being imposed. The public clemency materials do not name an advocate or give an individualized White House rationale, so her partisan alignment provides context but not a demonstrated cause.

Since Clemency

  • 2025-05 · judicial discipline

The commission replaced Fiore’s suspension without salary with an interim suspension with salary and initiated a new judicial-conduct complaint.

Legal Status: Interim discipline; alleged in-office misconduct, not a new criminal conviction.

  • 2026-04-10 · judicial discipline appeal

Nevada’s Supreme Court dismissed the appeal of the superseded unpaid suspension as moot, affirmed the interim suspension with salary and denied a writ challenging the complaint.

Legal Status: Procedural rulings that did not decide every underlying misconduct allegation.

  • 2026-04-24 · judicial discipline

The commission filed a three-count formal statement of charges arising from alleged judicial-conduct violations.

Legal Status: Disciplinary allegations, not a final disciplinary finding or new criminal conviction.

  • 2026-10-19 · judicial disciplinary hearing

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that Fiore testified before the Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline and denied using charitable donations for personal expenses.

Legal Status: Reported testimony in a separate judicial-discipline proceeding; her denial is not a finding, and no final disciplinary disposition was verified in this review.
