Case Summary
Two tipsters told the FBI that Michael John Dillon entered the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Agents interviewed Dillon at his home in Fort Myers, Fla., just a few weeks later, according to an FBI statement of facts. Dillon said he went to support former Pres. Donald Trump, adding that he didn’t hurt anyone or damage property, according to the FBI. Agents identified a person they allege to be Dillon in Capitol surveillance video by his black leather jacket and “unusual height.” Dillon is 6 feet, 5 inches tall, according to records the FBI obtained from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. The FBI claims the video shows Dillon climbing through a window next to the Senate Wing door at about 2:50 pm. He remained among the thick crowd gathered there for about five minutes before exiting, according to the FBI.
