Case Summary
“Stormed Nancy[’s] office,” Michael Gianos wrote to a friend on Facebook on Jan. 6, 2021, according to an FBI statement of facts. “I watched them take her laptop … Video I have are inside. Just don’t wanna send them … cause their gonna arrest people.” Surveillance footage allegedly shows Gianos and two co-defendants entering an office within House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s suite, where the statement of facts claims they remained for less than a minute. For weeks leading up to the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, Gianos exchanged messages with co-defendants Rachel Myers and Lawrence Stackhouse and also forwarded tweets from President Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani, which reflected his belief that the 2020 election had been “stolen,” according to the statement of facts. Gianos was arrested on Dec. 1, 2021, in Marlton, N.J.
Case History
Gianos pleaded Guilty to one charge: Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building or Grounds. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced on 7/25/2023 to 24 months of Probation; first 30 days in home detention; Special Assessment of $25; Restitution of $500; 50 hours of community service. Gianos received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
