Case Summary
Matthew LeBrun went to the U.S. Capitol with Steven Miles, with whom he is charged, and two other men previously charged in relation to the attack, prosecutors say. Court documents indicate that LeBrun wore a dark gaiter face mask with stars on it that day, along with a dark headband with stars, a black tactical vest, and what appeared to be a body camera. According to the FBI, the tactical vest also included an American flag patch with the logo of the far-right militia group the Three Percenters, though NPR has not confirmed whether LeBrun is a member. LeBrun allegedly marched to the Capitol and climbed the stairs onto the West Terrace. Prosecutors say Miles, LeBrun's alleged companion that day, broke a window that he and LeBrun then climbed through into the building. LeBrun was arrested in April of 2022. According to a sentencing memo filed in court, LeBrun served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

LeBrun received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
