Case Summary
“I’m getting ready to storm D.C.,” wrote Marshall Neefe in a message to a friend on Nov. 4, 2020, the day after Election Day 2020, expressing his dissatisfaction with the election results, according to court documents. In the following weeks, Neefe engaged in multiple online conversations organizing travel to Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6, 2021. He wrote on Facebook in December: “Cause hot damn son I really wanna crack some commie skulls." According to the FBI, Neefe made a wooden club he called “the commie knocker” that he brought to Washington. On the Capitol grounds, footage shows Neefe participating in hoisting and pushing a large metal sign frame into a defensive line of police officers, court documents indicate. He is also allegedly seen entering the building and disregarding commands from law enforcement. “If i had it my way every cop who hurled a baton or maced [one] of us would be lined up and put down," he allegedly wrote later. Neefe faces 10 charges, including seven felonies.
