Case Summary
“We’re in the capital (sic). Taking our house back … we’ve Been tear gassed etc.,” Mandy Robinson-Hand allegedly wrote in Facebook posts, which a tipster then submitted to the FBI. The FBI claims surveillance footage from the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, appears to show Robinson-Hand, formerly known as Mandy Robinson-Lanning, entering the building through the Senate wing door just before 2:30 p.m., holding her cellphone aloft. She and her husband, Charles Hand III, who is also charged, were then filmed walking hand in hand through the Capitol Visitors Center and the Crypt, court documents allege. According to an FBI statement, the video footage shows Robinson-Hand appearing to restrain her husband from advancing toward a scuffle involving police and protesters. Robinson-Hand and her husband were arrested March 11 in Butler, Ga.
