Case Summary
Charging documents for Luke Faulkner and Jared Kastner say that a photo of Faulkner in front of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, appears in Google records belonging to Kastner. Agents believe Faulkner to be a frequent contact of Kastner and ran a search warrant on Faulkner's cellphone account, which showed the phone had pinged a cell site that includes the inside of the Capitol building during the riot. Surveillance footage also allegedly shows Kastner and Faulkner in the Crypt of the Capitol, among a crowd pushing through officers that were attempting to hold them back. In addition to the footage, multiple records obtained by law enforcement show that Kastner traveled to an apartment in North Beach, Md., in the first week of January 2021 from his home in Ohio and then back to Ohio, where he arrived at an address belonging to Faulkner, on Jan. 7, 2021.
