Case Summary
Leticia Ferreira shared a video depicting the scene inside of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, with a person who then stepped forward as a witness, according to an FBI statement of facts. FBI agents interviewed Ferreira at her home in Illinois on April 2, 2021. Ferreira, who told the FBI she is a Brazilian citizen living in the U.S. on a work visa, allegedly stated that she flew to Washington, D.C., on the day before the riot and returned home the day after. Cellphone location data obtained by the FBI match Ferreira's travel description, court documents indicate. During the FBI interview, Ferreira also allegedly shared photos and videos she had taken inside the Capitol, according to court documents. Security footage from inside the Capitol, along with video taken by others present, allegedly show Ferreira inside the Crypt of the building, wearing a red beanie with the word "Trump" and a camouflage Michael Kors jacket.
Case History
Ferreira pleaded Guilty to the single charge. Sentenced on 10/6/2022 to 14 days of incarceration; 36 months probation; $10 Special Assessment; Restitution of $500; 60 hours of community service. Ferreira received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
