Case Summary
Kyle Andrew Campbell stood out in footage of protestors outside the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, due to the distinctive fur-lined hood on his black winter jacket. After federal agents posted pictures of Campbell online, they received multiple tips from those who knew him, confirming his identity. Federal agents interviewed Campbell in February, 2023. While he admitted being close to a line of officers tussling with protestors, he claimed that he had been pushed by the crowd into that position, and that he removed himself after getting sprayed by police. The charges against Campbell do not claim that he entered the Capitol building at any point that day.
Case History
Campbell pleaded Guilty to one charge: Assaulting, Resisting, or Impeding Certain Officers. Sentenced on 10/31/2024 to 4 months incarceration; 4 months of home confinement; 36 months of supervised release; $2,000 in restitution; $100 special assessment; 60 hours of community service. Campbell received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
