Case Summary

Kristi Munn was allegedly at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, with her parents and two siblings, who are also charged in the riot, and one other child who was not charged. A tipster contacted the FBI after seeing posts on Kristi Munn's Facebook and Snapchat accounts that indicated she had been at the rally and later at the riot, including one photo that was captioned, "Washington D.C. here we come… #StopTheSteal #TrumpIsMyPresident.” On Jan. 26, 2021, in an interview with the FBI, Kristi Munn admitted to going to the Capitol but denied going inside, according to court documents. However, videos from that day place her inside the building, the court documents say. On Jan. 7, 2021, in a message on Facebook obtained by the FBI, Kristi Munn allegedly wrote, “We were in the capital !! … Just keep that bit of info on the DL for right now.” Cellphone records obtained by the FBI from AT&T also place Kristi Munn inside the Capitol that day, court documents indicate.

Case History

Kristi Munn pleaded Guilty to one charge: Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced on 10/12/2022 to 36 months Probation with 90 days of home detention; special assessment of $10.00; restitution of $500; 60 hours of community service. Munn received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
