Shortly after Jan. 6, 2021, the FBI received tips that Kimberly Rae Dragoo and her husband, Steven Michael Dragoo, who is also charged, had been seen in photographs from inside the U.S. Capitol building on the day of the riot. FBI interviewed the couple on Jan. 20., and both of them admitted that they had entered the Capitol but said they did nothing wrong, federal court records state. Kimberly Dragoo allegedly entered the Capitol through a broken window. During the interview, she allegedly stated that she thought it was "funny." Before entering, Kimberly Dragoo also posted a video to Facebook narrating the events from the grounds of the Capitol, court records state. In the video, she allegedly states: "This part is all barricaded ... they’re not supposed to be up here.” The court documents also state that Kimberly Dragoo also appeared in a news article about the riot from New Press Now, in which she is quoted as saying: "“Where I was everybody was happy ... I didn’t see anything I saw on the news.”
