Case Summary
Kenneth Armstrong III first came to the attention of the FBI after a tipster contacted the agency, saying Armstrong had entered the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, according to court documents. The tipster also provided Armstrong’s business address. On March 11, 2021, the FBI interviewed Armstrong at his business. He told the agents that he traveled to Washington, D.C., to attend President Donald Trump’s rally on the day of the riot and that he later walked with the crowd to the Capitol and entered the building, court documents indicate. Armstrong also allegedly sent the FBI a video he took while inside the building.
Case History
Armstrong pleaded Guilty to one charge: Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced on 6/13/2023 to 14 days incarceration; 36 months of probation; special assessment of $10; and restitution of $500. Armstrong received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
