Case Summary
Less than two weeks after the U.S. Capitol riot, a tipster told the FBI that Kenneth John Reda had posted on the social media platform Parler (under the username "mrjoebidenhead") about breaching the Capitol that day, court papers say. Investigators then served search warrants to Google and Verizon and received location data that allegedly shows Reda was present at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Surveillance footage from inside the Capitol also allegedly shows Reda inside the building. Parler posts from Reda cited by investigators in court documents provide additional information about Reda's possible motivation: He posted in December that "it is IMPERATIVE every single person that VOTED for Trump has to flood DC" on Jan. 6, 2021, and separately, "we need to get together and organize against this KABAL [sic] we need to overthrow it." In one message cited in the court papers, Reda used the hashtag "#WWG1WGA," which refers to a phrase used by supporters of the pro-Trump conspiracy theory QAnon: "Where We Go One, We Go All." Reda was arrested on July 6, 2021.
Case History
Reda pleaded Guilty to one charge: Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced to 3 years probation; 60 days home detention/location monitoring; $500 restitution; $10 special assessment; 60 hours of community service. Reda received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
