Case Summary
Weeks before the Capitol riot, Kenneth Grayson allegedly messaged someone, "IF TRUMP TELLS US TO STORM THE F***IN CAPITAL IMA DO THAT THEN!" Federal prosecutors say Grayson can be seen in footage from inside the Capitol building — including in a livestream on Grayson's own Facebook page — wearing a black jacket with a large yellow "Q." Investigators say they believe Grayson has expressed support for QAnon, the pro-Trump conspiracy theory, and they have also cited photographs of Grayson with a leader of the far-right group the Proud Boys, as well as the conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. As part of the case against Grayson, the government has also cited messages he allegedly sent around the time of pro-Trump rallies in November and December 2020. "I was beating commies with a flag pole I picked up," Grayson allegedly messaged someone after one such rally. "I left one unconscious so I did my little part and got the f*** out before I got arrested." Federal prosecutors have not charged Grayson with any violent crimes. Still, during a federal court hearing in Grayson's case, an FBI agent testified that Grayson expressed no remorse for his alleged role in the Capitol rioting and that he expressed a "feeling or need to kill, and that included current President Joe Biden.”
Case History
Grayson pleaded Guilty to the single charge. Sentenced on 12/19/2022 to 2 months incarceration; 2 years of supervised release; Special Assessment of $100 and Restitution of $2,000. Grayson received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
