Case Summary
In early January of 2021, Kayla Reifschneider wrote in a group chat to friends that she would be going to Washington, D.C. for the Stop The Steal rally on Jan. 6, and that "I'm bringing a knife and three pepper sprays and a stun gun," according to court documents. In open source video from Jan. 6, Reifschneider is seen yelling profanities at law enforcement and members of the media while in the crowd of protestors outside the Capitol building. At one point she was seen picking up a TV camera and smashing it on the ground. Videos subsequently posted on Reifschneider's Instagram account showed her in the middle of the rioters on Capitol grounds. She was arrested on Mar. 6, 2024, in Los Angeles, Calif.
