Katelyn Bartow posted video to her TikTok account showing people picking up trash inside the Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021, and captioned it, “What the media doesn’t want to show,” according to an FBI statement of facts. Bartow told FBI agents in February 2021 that she entered an open, unguarded door at the Capitol, according to the FBI. She added that she yelled at protestors who were confronting police inside the “visitor center,” and she directed them to help her pick up garbage scattered near the entrance. Bartow was arrested on Oct. 27, 2022, in New York, and her brother Travis Bartow was arrested Oct. 28 in Nashville.
