Case Summary

Jordan Mink allegedly used a baseball bat to shatter windows at the U.S. Capitol building, according to charging documents. After reviewing video footage and photogaphs, investigators believe Mink entered the Capitol building through that broken window and started removing property from inside the building, handing items over to the crowd outside. In a review of his social media accounts, a federal investigator found that on Nov. 3, 2020 – Election Day – Mink posted a selfie on Instagram holding a gun with a sticker that says, “I Voted," and a caption that read, “The ballot is stronger than the bullet – Abraham Lincoln. “Well … my magazines will be fully loaded just in case it’s not.” The judge presiding over Mink's case has ordered Mink to stay in custody until his trial.

Case History

Mink pleaded Guilty to two charges: Assaulting, Resisting, or Impeding Certain Officers Using a Dangerous Weapon and Theft of Government Property. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced on 6/2/2023 to 51 months incarceration; 36 months supervised release; $120 special assessment; $2,000 restitution. Mink received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
