Case Summary

According to court documents, witnesses who said they were a former high school classmate and a former coworker identified Jolene Eicher to the FBI. Both recognized Eicher in a photo from inside the U.S. Capitol, which prosecutors say shows Eicher in a purple shirt, tan jacket and necklace. The FBI say they traced a woman in the same outfit on Capitol surveillance footage and in social media videos, including one that appears to show Eicher climbing through a broken window. Witnesses told the FBI that Eicher did not show remorse for her involvement and lost or resigned her job on a Virginia rescue squad when her involvement became public. A search warrant to Facebook led investigators to conversations Eicher had in which she allegedly shared photos from in and around the Capitol, including one in which she holds a sign reading “Trump 2020.” Court documents show that the FBI also received Eicher’s cellphone records through a search warrant to AT&T and that those records are consistent with Eicher being in or near the Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021.

Case History

Eicher pleaded Not Guilty to all charges. On 6/14/2023 she was found Guilty on all charges in a Jury trial. Sentenced on 9/15/2023 to 2 months incarceration; 12 months supervised release; $70 special assessment; $500 restitution. Eicher received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
