Case Summary
Two days after the riot at the Capitol, prosecutors allege, John Lolos boarded a Delta flight departing from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. After Lolos repeatedly yelled, "Trump 2020!" on board, the flight crew decided to turn back and escort Lolos off the flight, court records indicate. About 45 minutes later, a police officer at the airport recognized Lolos from photographs of the Capitol riot — Lolos was also allegedly wearing the same shirt as in the photos — and called up additional help from police and FBI personnel, who then arrested Lolos. When law enforcement searched Lolos' possessions, prosecutors say, they found the same pro-Trump flag that Lolos appeared to have in photos of the Capitol riot.
Case History
Lolos pleaded Guilty to one charge: Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges were dismissed. Sentenced 11/19/2021 to 14 days incarceration; $10 special assessment; $500 restitution. Lolos received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
