Case Summary
Jeremy Harrison entered the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, with Brian McGee, whom he had previously met online and who is also charged, according to an FBI statement of facts. During an interview with the FBI on June 30, 2022, Harrison identified himself in photographs from U.S. Capitol footage. Harrison said he saw someone dressed in tactical gear that he thought was a police officer directing people inside. Once inside the Capitol, Harrison stated that at first he thought it was "okay" to be in the building but left when he observed the "chaos", according to court documents. In an August meeting, Harrison gave the FBI agents a dark blue t-shirt that he could be seen wearing in the security footage as evidence. Harrison was arrested in Ocala, Fla., on Feb. 9, 2023.
Case History
Harrison pleaded Guilty to one charge: Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced on 11/8/2023 to 24 months of Probation; $10 Special Assessment; Restitution in the amount of $500; 60 hours community service; 30 days home detention. Harrison received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
