Case Summary
Jennifer Vargas Geller came to the attention of the FBI after the bureau posted photos of a woman in a pink beret from the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol. Shortly after, someone tweeted the FBI's tweet about the woman, saying "I use [sic] to date this girl in 2019 LOL." Another person who also said they had dated her contacted the FBI directly, telling agents that the woman in the photographs was Vargas Geller, court records indicate. That person also shared Instagram messages they exchanged with Vargas Geller after the riot. When the tipster asked Vargas Geller, "are you on the no fly list now," she allegedly replied, "Nope, cause I didn't go into the capital [sic]." However, the FBI was able to locate Vargas Geller in surveillance footage from the day of the riot walking through the building, according to court records. Vargas Geller was allegedly inside the building for a little more than 20 minutes in total.
