Case Summary
Federal law enforcement identified Jeffrey Hubbard among the rioters inside the U.S. Capitol building, in part, through what court documents describe as his "distinct bald head." At one point, prosecutors say, footage shows Hubbard chanting "break it down" inside the Capitol. Local law enforcement allegedly spoke to Hubbard's mother around the time of the riot, and court documents state that she told officers that Hubbard was in Washington, D.C., for the pro-Trump rally. Subsequent searches of cellphone records allegedly corroborate the video footage and other evidence suggesting Hubbard breached the Capitol. According to a sentencing memorandum filed in federal court, Hubbard is an Army veteran who served in combat zones in Kuwait and Iraq between 2005 and 2006. Hubbard was arrested Dec. 8, 2021.
Case History
Hubbard pleaded Guilty to one charge: Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced on 2/17/2023 to 45 days incarceration; 36 Months of Probation (with conditions); $500 Restitution; $500 Fine; $10 Special Assessment. Hubbard received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
